About SpyderBot

We didn’t plan to build a company. We discovered a missing layer of the internet.

It started with a question no one could answer—then became a platform for AI visibility and GEO.

It started with a question no one could answer

A founder asked us: “Why is ChatGPT recommending my competitor… instead of us?”

On paper, it didn’t make sense.

  • Better product
  • Stronger SEO
  • More traffic
  • More content

But inside AI-generated answers, none of that seemed to matter. So we started testing.

The deeper we looked, the stranger it got

We ran hundreds of prompts across AI systems. What we found was consistent:

  • Companies with strong SEO had zero presence in AI answers
  • Smaller competitors were being consistently recommended
  • AI systems were misclassifying products and categories
  • Brand perception was being shaped… without the brand

This wasn’t a ranking issue. It was something deeper.

The realization

We weren’t looking at a broken system. We were looking at a new system.

Search had changed.

From search engines to answer engines

For decades, the internet worked like this:

  • Search engine → list of links → user clicks

Now it works like this:

  • AI system → generated answer → user trusts

There are no rankings. There are no pages. There is only: What the AI chooses to include

And that changes everything

If your brand is not mentioned:

  • You don’t get considered
  • You don’t get compared
  • You don’t get chosen

You are invisible inside the decision layer.

We tried to measure it

We assumed tools already existed. We were wrong.

There was:

  • No way to track brand mentions in AI systems
  • No way to understand how LLMs interpret a company
  • No way to analyze why competitors appear in answers
  • No way to debug AI-driven visibility

This was the gap.

We call it: AI Visibility

AI Visibility is the degree to which a brand is recognized, correctly interpreted, and included in AI-generated answers.

It is influenced by:

Entity clarity
Contextual relevance
Semantic structure
Data patterns learned by LLMs

And unlike SEO: it cannot be measured with rankings or keywords.

That led to a second realization

If AI visibility is structured, it can be understood.

If it can be optimized.

So we built SpyderBot

SpyderBot is a GEO (Generative Engine Optimization) analytics platform.

We built it to answer questions that didn’t have answers:

  • Why ChatGPT not mentioning my brand?
  • Why AI search ignores my website?
  • How do LLMs choose which companies to mention?
  • How to appear in AI search results?

What SpyderBot actually does

SpyderBot makes AI systems observable.

1

Track AI visibility

  • Monitor brand mentions across LLMs
  • Compare against competitors
  • Identify visibility gaps
2

Understand AI interpretation

  • How your brand is categorized
  • Which entities are associated with you
  • Where misclassification happens
3

Analyze AI reading of your website

  • How LLMs process your content
  • Missing signals affecting visibility
  • Structural weaknesses
4

Explain AI decisions

  • Why competitors appear
  • Why you don’t
  • What influences inclusion

We didn’t just build a product

We defined a category

We call it: Generative Engine Optimization (GEO)

GEO is the practice of optimizing how AI systems understand, interpret, and mention your brand.

If SEO was about ranking pages, GEO is about being included in generated answers.

Why this matters now

We are at a transition point:

  • AI is becoming the primary interface for information
  • Users are asking, not searching
  • Decisions are made inside answers

This shift is happening faster than mobile, social, or cloud. And most companies are not prepared.

AI-driven discovery should be transparent
Category leaders will be defined inside AI systems

And most importantly: No company should be invisible to AI.

What we are building toward

We are building the analytics layer for the AI-generated internet.

A world where:

  • Brands compete for inclusion, not ranking
  • Authority is defined by AI interpretation
  • Visibility is dynamic, not static

Final thought

We didn’t set out to build SpyderBot. We set out to answer a question.

And that question turned into a realization:

The internet has a new layer. And no one was measuring it. So we started.
