Getting Started with SpyderBot

This guide will help you set up SpyderBot and start analyzing your AI visibility.

Step 1: Create your account

Sign up and access your dashboard.

Once logged in, you can begin the setup process immediately.

Step 2: Add your website

Enter your primary domain.

This allows SpyderBot to:

  • Analyze your brand presence in AI responses
  • Track your visibility across prompts
  • Compare your performance with competitors

Step 3: Install tracking (recommended)

To enable full analysis, you should install the SpyderBot tracking script on your website.

This works similarly to tools like Google Analytics — by adding a lightweight script to your site.

Option 1: Install SpyderBot Script (Recommended)

Add the SpyderBot script to your website:

  • Works across all platforms (custom sites, SaaS, CMS)
  • Can be added directly to your HTML or via tag managers
  • Requires minimal setup

Once installed, SpyderBot can:

  • Detect signals related to AI interactions
  • Analyze how your site is accessed and interpreted
  • Improve visibility tracking accuracy

=> This is the fastest way to start.

Option 2: Use Google Tag Manager (Optional)

If you are already using GTM, you can deploy the SpyderBot script through your existing container.

Option 3: Connect Google Analytics (Optional)

You may optionally connect GA4 to enrich your data.

This allows SpyderBot to:

  • Analyze traffic influenced by AI systems
  • Understand user behavior from AI-driven visits
  • Improve attribution and conversion insights

=> Note:

  • GA4 integration is optional
  • SpyderBot does not access your data without permission

Why install the script?

Without installation, SpyderBot can still analyze:

  • AI responses
  • Brand mentions
  • Competitor positioning

However, installing the script enables:

  • More accurate tracking
  • Better coverage across your pages
  • Deeper insight into how AI interacts with your site

Step 4: Run your first analysis

SpyderBot will begin analyzing:

  • AI responses related to your industry
  • Brand mentions and competitor positioning
  • Visibility patterns across prompts

Initial insights are generated shortly after setup.

Step 5: Explore your dashboards

SpyderBot provides two main dashboards:

Brand Insights (Core Dashboard)

This is where you analyze your full GEO report.

You can:

  • See how your brand appears in AI-generated answers
  • Compare your visibility with competitors
  • Analyze ranking position within responses
  • Identify gaps where competitors outperform you

=> Start here to:

Understand why your brand is (or isn’t) being mentioned

LLM Tracking

This dashboard helps you understand how AI systems interact with your website:

  • Whether your content is being discovered
  • How your pages are accessed and interpreted
  • Coverage across your site

What to check first

To get immediate value:

  1. Is your brand being mentioned in AI responses?
  2. Which competitors appear more frequently?
  3. Where is your brand missing?

Common early insights

Many users quickly discover:

  • Competitors dominating key prompts
  • Missing visibility in high-intent queries
  • Gaps in how their content is interpreted by AI systems

What to do next

After reviewing your data:

=> Go to Brand Insights to analyze your competitive position
=> Then use Playbooks to improve your visibility
