LLM Share of Voice

LLM Share of Voice measures how much visibility your brand has compared to competitors in AI-generated responses. It shows your relative presence, not just your absolute visibility.

What this metric represents

This metric answers:

"Out of all brands mentioned, how often is yours included?"

It is calculated based on:

  • Mentions of your brand
  • Mentions of competitors
  • Distribution across prompts

Why it matters

In AI-generated answers, users are often presented with:

  • Lists of tools
  • Comparisons
  • Recommendations

If your share of voice is low:

Your competitors are dominating the conversation

How to use it

Use LLM Share of Voice to:

  • Benchmark against competitors
  • Identify dominant players in your category
  • Track competitive shifts over time

How to interpret

High share of voice

  • Your brand is frequently included
  • You are part of key AI responses

=> Action:
Strengthen positioning to become top recommendation

Low share of voice

  • Your brand is missing or underrepresented

=> Action:
Identify which competitors are replacing you

Uneven distribution

  • Strong in some prompts, weak in others

=> Action:
Focus on gaps across missing use cases

Share of Voice does not indicate quality of positioning.

A brand can appear frequently but not as a top recommendation.
